Introducing Robyn, Our Albany Team Leader

Interchange WA is proud to introduce our Team Leader for our new Albany region: Robyn.

Born and raised in Albany, Robyn is a local who supports locals. Although she started her career in mining in the Pilbara region, she transitioned into Social Work in hospitals and palliative care starting in 2004. From there, she moved into the disability sector in 2013. During that time, she has coordinated rural palliative care projects, coordinated respite in the Lower Great Southern region, and led the disability program at another provider in Albany.

With such an outstanding career, some of our readers may already be familiar with her. She has poured years of work into giving the people of Albany the best support possible alongside many of our other new employees in Albany. But in a community where everybody knows everybody, it’s likely our Albany employees and customers know her from around town, where she’s lived for most of her life.

Albany, Animals, and Interchange

Growing up on a farm just outside of town, animals have always been a part of Robyn’s life. In addition to her two children and three grandchildren, Robyn’s family includes two dogs, four cats, a parrot, and four aquariums full of tropical fish.

They keep her busy when engaging with her hobbies outside of work too. Her love of gardening is now doubly motivated by the need to fill holes dug by dogs, and knitting takes on an extra challenge when competing with cats who love to tangle themselves in wool balls. Fortunately, the fish haven’t worked out a way to disrupt her daily cryptic crosswords yet.

But keeping busy and managing an ever-changing environment is all part of the job. As Team Leader for Albany, Robyn’s role extends to every Interchanger in the region. She’s the primary point of contact for all customers, their carers and representatives in Albany. Whether they have questions about their current services or they’re looking at joining us, she’s responsible for ensuring they get all of the information and support they need alongside the Area manager, Jane.

She also leads the team in Albany, bringing them together to build an inclusive Neighbourhood where everyone belongs.
