Live your way, with the support that feels just right

Individualised Living Options (ILO) is NDIS support that helps you explore and create your own long-term home environment. Whether you want to live with a Host, share a home with others, or stay in your own home with the right supports, we are here to build a living arrangement around your unique needs.

ILO is different from other types of housing support. You are not moving into an existing model, but instead shaping your own. That might mean:

  • Exploring and designing a unique living arrangement to suit your housing goals
  • Living with a supportive Host family
  • Staying in your own home with a Live-in Companion
  • Receiving flexible support from a local team or a Good Neighbour

We will guide you through the three ILO stages: Exploration & Design, followed by Implementation and Routine Check-ins, so you can move forward with clarity and confidence. Your preferences will shape your housing arrangement, and your arrangement will adapt with you.

What ILO can look like

No two ILO arrangements are the same. We work with you to create a model that’s tailored to your needs, fundings, routines, relationships and your housing goals.

We provide a Design and Exploration services to help you navigate the NDIS housing options. This might include:

Frequently Asked Questions

NDIS Individualised Living Options (ILO)

Individualised Living Options (ILO) supports are built around flexible, person-led arrangements where the arrangements are designed around your unique needs. No two ILO setups are the same.
SIL is a support that funds daily assistance for participants with higher support needs. It often includes in-home support services such as Personal Care, Meal Preparation, Medication Management and Daily Living routines. Under a SIL arrangement you may live alone or be in a Shared Living Arrangement with compatible housemates.

A Host Arrangement is one type of ILO support, where a person with disability lives in a Host’s home and receives ongoing support in a natural, family-style setting. This arrangement is ideal for people who enjoy a welcoming, family-driven setting, but it can also be a great stepping stone for those wanting more independence or preparing to live on their own in the future

Individualised Living Options (ILO) can support a range of living styles; from living with friends or family, to having a housemate or Host or even Good Neighbours. It’s about tailoring a home life that suits you best with the support that is made to empower your growth.

To start building your independence at home through ILO, you’ll first need to complete a Request for Home and Living Supports form. This helps the NDIS review your individual circumstances without requiring a formal plan review. Once that step is complete, we will work alongside you to identify the living arrangement that best suits your needs, lifestyle, and future goals.
