Criminals always come up with new ways to scam people. There are currently several cases where scammers are calling or emailing people and pretending to be from a trusted organisation like a bank, IT company … or Interchange. These scammers may claim that your accounts or devices are compromised, your money is at risk or that they need your bank account details and PIN number to process a payment on your behalf.
Make sure to stay alert and stay protected!
STOP – Do not give your personal information, PIN numbers or other crucial data to anyone if unsure. Say no & hang up.
CHECK – Scammers call and pretend to be from organisations that you know and trust. If you are not sure if the caller is legit, you can hang up and call the official number of the organisation to check. Visit their official website or use the White Pages.
PROTECT – If a scammer has taken your money, bank card or personal details, contact your bank or card provider immediately to report the scam and ask them to stop any transaction. Call the police if your cash or card has been taken by someone unknown.
Remember that Interchange will never ask you to provide personal information about your bank account or PIN number. If a caller you do not know says they are from Interchange, feel free to hang up and call us on (08) 9329 9399 and ask to talk to your Team Leader.
