Kelly, our incredible Area Manager for the South, recently achieved something truly remarkable, and we can’t wait to share her story with you!
At Interchange, we believe in celebrating the incredible people who make up our team, looking beyond their professional roles to get to know each other and build a community that thrives on mutual support and genuine connections. Kelly’s recent accomplishment is a shining example of this spirit, and we know you will be as inspired as we are.
Kelly has discovered a passion for open-water swimming, a hobby that exhilarates her and presents exciting challenges that drive her forward. The other week, she took part in the Busselton Jetty Swim!
Kelly found the swim to be great, although challenging. The organisers mentioned it was the worst conditions since 2017, with high winds creating significant swells. The first few hundred meters from the beach were particularly tough due to the waves, but once she got into deeper water, she managed to find her rhythm.
I certainly swallowed some sea water with the rough waves and the stingers were out too which I mostly managed to avoid luckily. I was super pleased with my time. When registering for the ballot, I had estimated 75 minutes as it was my first time doing the 3.6 km and I actually achieved it in precisely 75 minutes and 16 seconds!
Kelly described the atmosphere as absolutely amazing and felt incredibly blessed that both of her daughters drove down to support her on the day, which meant the world to her. She loves that the event includes a team swim, a kids’ swim, and various solo distances, bringing together a diverse group of people and fostering a strong sense of community.
She is fully immersed in the world of open water swimming and is undoubtedly already planning her next exhilarating challenge.
Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us!
