From a young age, our customer Ashleigh always knew that public speaking was something she was naturally good at. It was not just a skill; it was a passion that Ashleigh enjoyed immensely. The thrill of engaging an audience and sharing her thoughts came effortlessly to her.
As Ashleigh delved deeper into public speaking, she noticed significant growth and progress. Her confidence soared, and she became more knowledgeable about community events. Along the way, Ashleigh met many incredible people who enriched her journey.
However, the path was not always smooth. Initially, Ashleigh struggled with how to get started in public speaking. That is when Sproutspace Mandurah came into the picture. They played a crucial role in Ashleigh’s journey, handling much of the groundwork and ensuring she felt comfortable at each event. Their support was invaluable.
Ashleigh’s Support Workers also played a pivotal role in her success. They helped her prepare for speeches and attended the events to show their support.
Together with her Support Worker Jessica, Ashleigh also founded a group called Pals Place, aimed at fostering friendships within the disability community. Promoting this initiative in her speeches has been incredibly rewarding for her.
One of the most memorable moments in Ashleigh’s public speaking journey was her speech at the International Day of People with Disability. Speaking in front of an audience of roughly 140 people was exhilarating. The highlight of that day was being called an inspiration by David Templeman, a moment that Ashleigh will cherish forever.
Thank you, Ashleigh, for sharing your journey with us.
