Interchange WA Board Director

The Interchange WA Board is seeking to appoint a Director who has a lived experience of disability. This important role will be one of two positions on the Board that are responsible for keeping the Board informed about matters that may affect people who are in receipt of services provided by Interchange.

Essential Criteria

• Unique expertise and understanding of the requirements of people with disability, through their own lived experience

• Knowledge and experience of Directors’ roles and responsibilities, including a sound understanding of a Board’s legal responsibility and the ability to oversee compliance with numerous legal and statutory obligations

• Ability to read and comprehend an organisation’s accounts, financial material presented to the Board and financial reporting requirements

• Understanding of strategic and business planning principles

• A good understanding of meeting protocols and the conduct of Board meetings

• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team

• Willingness to undertake further education or training as required to fulfil the role of Director

• Availability to attend Board meetings as scheduled, usually one evening on a monthly basis and of approximately 2 to 2 ½ hours duration. Other Committee work may be required from time to time.
